JOB SUMMARY

• The tax professional and tax return preparer are responsible for conducting complete tax interviews and for preparing tax returns so clients pay the least possible tax as prescribed by tax law.

• The tax professional and tax return preparer accept and transmit electronically filed returns as required.

• Additionally, the tax professional and the tax return preparer answer tax questions and offer advice to assist clients in their financial planning including referring them to other Taxwise Australia services as appropriate.

• The tax professional and tax return preparer implement Taxwise Australia client service and public relations programs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to demonstrate, by accurately completing an assessment examination, tax knowledge and preparation skills sufficient to prepare tax returns containing items taught in the Taxwise Australia Tax Course. This covers most items encountered on personal tax returns including wage income, interest and dividends, rental properties, capital gains,  itemized deductions, and self-employment income.

• Excellent communication skills and ability to foster relationships with clients.

• Comfortable offering additional products and services and takes the initiative to do so.

• Previous experience dealing with the general public preferred but not required.

• Must pass the eleven-week tax course before hiring; however, completion of the course does not guarantee employment. May be required to pay for the course.

• Basic computer knowledge and experience.

• Additional Information Position Type: Seasonal with possibility to become a licensee or franchisee.
